But that would preclude displaced pilots from wanting to bid into it. At any rate this LOA specifically benefits the company apparently. They should let off completely with the one-year equipment lock. Why do only a certain small portion of pilots get to capitalize on multiple perks. Wasn't LOA 50 enough? I just don't get it.

Line holding commuters get hotels if they're displaced in base. If there's any IROPs they'll pay for hotels so commuters fly in the day before.
And sometimes if you ask crew scheduling nicely and the situation is unusual you can snag a room.
