I'm not challenging what you're saying, just trying to understand the end-game here: In what ways does it benefit mainline to keep an atrophied wholly-owned regional partner?

Is there some form of leverage in it over mainline pilots and/or regional partners?

Are their financial benefits (i.e. taxes, write-offs, debt, etc) to it?

Is it Ed Bastian's personal fetish to snuff out career aspirations of Endeavor employees???

It doesn't benefit them to keep us in an atrophied state. This is a transitional state. We will either turn around and build back, or go away completely.

As to leverage, having us in this condition doesn't directly give them any leverage, but giving us *anything* more while they are actively negotiating with DALPA loses them a lot of leverage in that negotiation. Everything I've heard is once the mainline contract is locked in, Delta is likely to be a lot more willing to try to solve the problems here in one way or another, but expect absolutely nothing to happen until then...

I doubt we hired 60. Most class pics have 12 pilots in them. We will know for sure when the next seniority list comes out.
July was 41 new hires and attrition was 67. SHRINKING!

I was just throwing numbers out but Thats even worse.. As others have mentioned on other threads, the DAL pilots contract will have to be done first before they get to us..

Is it just me, or did RE's memo reek just a bit of desperation. Also basically said that they're going to pretend that the pay raises at other carriers aren't happening...

After the reaction that people had from the email that we got from JG and PU Im not surprised that they had to clean some things up. Although there was nothing definitive said, it did have a better tone...albeit one that has no substance to back it up. the "several more carriers looking at what action they will take" is just ridiculous because the ones that have gone are enough to siphon the people that would have ordinarily had a chance to be hired here. The carriers that have raised pay and QOL enhancements should be enough to incentive our mgmt...so much for being their "most valued assets" HAHAHA

After much consideration and internal deliberation.

“At this time, we consider overall compensation, FLOW, CAP programs in place today to be the best and most balanced approach to short and long-term staffing problems we face at Delta and Endeavor.”

The writing is on the wall. Shutdown by Q2 2024.
