I am currently doing my ATP/CTP course, and was hoping to get the 700/900 so I can get based in NYC (which is a junior base for Endeavor). I met a couple of pilots in sim training today, both started training in June and were based in DTW because Endeavor was looking to staff the 200s (80% of the class was given the 200s). How confident are you that they are not looking for any more 200 classes? my class date is end of Nov.

Republic is a far safer choice for NYC. Go there for six months, and then go to JetBlue.

If you are on the 900 you will 100% be able to be based in NYC as a new hire, guaranteed, and you will be able to upgrade to Captain the moment you hit 1000 hours 121 time and stay in NYC. If NYC is your goal, EDV is certainly a great place to work. Can't speak for any other airlines.

There is a post on the FB page right now... apparently management outright stated that the 200 will be shrinking like crazy, something like only 12 of the aircraft will still be active by the end of the year.

Seems like there are a lot of negative nancies here. Management recently said that the 200s will be decreasing greatly, so there is a very small chance that you get the 200. FAR lower than 50%. Maybe 10% at this point is my random guess.

I chose EDV because I heard great things about the company from pilots all around the industry, plus had a superior all around interview and onboarding experience. I did also get a CJO from Republic but decided to go EDV.

I do have a colleague from flight school at republic now, he’s not flying much although he started training a long while ago, backlog is happening everywhere.

It's a significant risk. If Violin said that they wanted DTW or ATL, then I'd say go for EDV. EDV has no guarantee of NYC right now, and the potential reward of NYC doesn't outweigh the significant career detriment of getting assigned the 200 during initial.
