Slow doesn’t always cut it. If you get onto a big patch of slippery ice, sometimes there is nothing you can do but to hold on and when that happens try to remember to report any areas of concern for the guy behind you. While speed is extremely important, proper ground prep is equally as important. Remember we’re not equipped with all terrain tires. Just saying.
I’ve had the aircraft move with idle thrust on ice/snow before, were it not for thrust reversers…
This comment shows how “experienced” you are. Clearly you have no clue how easy it is for an aircraft to slide on ice, and clearly you weren’t there to see to criticize the crew.

How about tell that to the delta 717 pilots that slid almost over the hill off a taxi way last winter in Pittsburgh...slow isn't always gonna cut it if there's ice.

The same thing happened back in September and the talks fell apart within a few days because the company wanted the pilots to give things up in exchange for retention bonuses. Staffing the airline is wholly the companies problem to solve and the pilots position has only gotten stronger in past few months as more are leaving than they can get into classes. Hopefully being unable to the staff the airline has made them realize they have to do something significant but I’m not holding my breath.
