In Nov 2020, I could have sworn the most junior captain was 2017. Making it 3-3.5 years. A year later it’s 2018. Making it 3 years or so.

Am I missing something?

No. Junior captain after COVID displacements was a mid 2017 hire. Never got to 5 years

EDV hasn’t forcibly reduced the total number of captains during the pandemic. Due to hiring street captains, we had a group of CAs who were very junior on the ISL, during the pandemic those street captains were forced back to the right seat as a because of l base closing shenanigans. At the same time an equal number of senior FOs upgraded. As of the end of the current vacancy, most of those former captains should have the seniority to hold the left seat.

So to answer the guys original question. Upgrade times haven’t changed. Maybe trending in the right direction but currently no substantial change from pre-covid.

So did we not send the full 20 to delta in November? If you take the 10 from oct attrition numbers and 8 for November that only is 18. Hopeflly all 20 that flow in Dec they all put their resignations in early December. If Dec numbers don't show at least 20 flows then that tells me we aren't sending the full amount.

As I understand it, yes, you also lose protected status. If you are in the top 500, I suggest filling out the app now, because if they suddenly double the flow, or something crazy like that, your paperwork/logbook needs to be in order within a short time.
