What is the QOL like being based in DTW for both a FO and a Captain?

How many days off per month can I expect?

For the extra $150,000 that AA is paying their regionals, you could have a boat too ;-)

Also, typically, how many legs of flying per day?
As others said, contracts don’t expire, but I get what you’re asking. Our contract’s amenable date is now years away again. Unfortunately, when Delta desperately needed someone to replace Compass on their contract that provided Delta additional scope for regional jets as well as a flow down for the Delta pilots and a flow up for the regional listed, our union gave up years more time on the amendability of our contract. Negotiations can still happen before then, but the company gained more control there. Not sure why the union felt that was necessary when Delta needed a name to fill in to get their 35 additional regional jets back in service, but we never got to vote on it anyways.

How many legs we fly a day varies by fleet, season and trip. It can range anywhere from 1 to 6 legs. Most common lately seems to be 2-4 legs a day. An easy 4 day trip may only have 6 legs total (1, 2, 2, 1). Another consideration besides number of legs is how much time you’re sitting between each of those legs. You could have a 4 leg day that finishes faster than a 3 leg day because between each of those legs you have a 2-4 hour sit somewhere.

Yep. Lots of long sits and unproductive days/trips. Enjoy working 12 hrs to get paid for 4-5.

If you live in base, it’s fine. If you commute, plan on at LEAST 1-2 nights in a hotel or crashpad due to uncommutable trips.

Right now, expect no more than 14days off a month once you gets line. Likely closer to 12. The trips right now are horribly inefficient causing minimum days off. According to management, this is being looked at and they are trying to make it better. I’ll believe it when I’m flying it…

oh, and also in the “according to management” column, E175s are still a consideration within 2 years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Um, sure they are…

I can't wait to hear what mgmt has to say during rgt on Thursday 😂.

But right now...11 days off for all line holders at all bases if you're bidding 70%+.

Cvg has the most uncommuteable trips with nyc 2nd and dtw 3rd. Schedules are terrible everywhere. Can't really see them getting better anytime soon.

CVG has always been harsh for commuters. That’s nothing new. On the staffing front curious if offering a seniority # at Delta is in reach? Pretty much would solve everything. They can hold and release as needed. Seems so simple but we know it’s not.

Well the company said there's no need for retention at 9E. Now did that mean senority at DAL or just monetary retention. Let's be honest money wouldn't do anything to keep pilots.

For Delta seniority numbers to happen, four parties have to sign on to it: Delta, Delta's MEC, Endeavor, and Endeavor's MEC. Given how Delta's MEC felt about us getting a flow, I doubt there's much support for them. Also Delta would have to give them something good, because seniority numbers for us does nothing for their pilots. In a nutshell, big D seniority for Endeavor is doubtful.

If the past is any indication, our company won't do anything until pilots are leaving here like rats from a sinking ship on fire. Endeavor has a nasty habit of being much more reactive than proactive.

Any flow going forth for EDV would have nothing to do with delta MEC. The other was just to satisfy a previous LOA for a flow back provision. That has been satisfied. Other than that LOA delta MEC has zero say in who gets a seniority number.
