All you have to do is go 90k into debt getting trained by ATP and then pay for your own ATC-CTP followed by a *25k training contract. That’s a hell of a deal!

Yeah the hypocrisy does strike a chord. Don't wear the hat because F Delta! But here wear this lanyard so you can...get to Delta. Or wait no PFA isn't about getting to Delta anymore right? Because the union is on revision 3 of that slogan and its supposed meaning.

Apparently you missed the point. Delta and Endeavor keep lying and moving the carrot a little farther away. First the SSP, then wear your hats, then keep the performance numbers up, then wear your hats some more, then the DGI failure.

I hope the young guys realize how much BS flavored kool aid our overlords peddle to us. Don't o things because Delta wants you to or made some empty promise of them noticing. Wearing your hat won't do a damn thing to get you to Delta. Do your job well because you are a professional with integrity. Do meaningful things to differentiate yourself and move on. If you are a starry eyed 1500 hour CFI chomping at the bit for an airline job, factor in career progression to your decisions. Don't come here thinking Delta values or cares about us any more than the money they can make off of us. Don't come here based upon their lies of the "path to Delta"

P.S. I know we aren't hiring now, but we will be. People need to make decisions based upon their individual goals. I just don't want people to come here thing it will gain any favor with Delta, because it doesn't. As far as those currently here, I'm tired of hearing people preach about wearing the hat because Delta notices or wants them to. If you want to wear the hat because you want to, go for it! Just don't be deluded into wearing to gain favor with our ATL overlords.

This is an excellent reality check among a sea of hopefuls and trolls. Unfortunately, I believe that the legacy carrier pathway is going to default once again to in-house programs and ab-initio type hiring. Given the break in demand and the implementation of these programs, there will be a somewhat abundance of new cadre to pick up through. I think for the next couple of years, the legacy game will taper away from hiring dues-paid regional folk. I hope I am wrong. I would strongly advocate on jumping ship for any airline job that isn't another regional. Especially for folk that live in MSP, Sun Country is a good choice for a regional exit. Again, just my opinions.

If you aren’t aggressively pursuing a spot at Frontier, Spirit, Jetblue etc you’re nuts, particularly if you’re an FO.
