I think Delta is taking a stance on BLM because it benefits everyone. People with a fundemental misunderstanding of the movement (or people just looking to be angry at something today) may choose to take issue, but if you bother to actually talk to black people about what it means to them, you will have a better understanding that living in a society where “black lives matter” means living in a society where *all* lives are valued equally. It’s really not that polarizing or threatening, unless you’re just someone who gets off on feeling victimized and being angry.

Yeah dismantling nuclear families and pushing communism benefits all of us, sign me up! The only people that misunderstand the BLM cult are the ones blindly supporting it. Screaming at white people about your victim status while they are trying to enjoy a ice cream or meal outside is another way to get people onboard. Nice try. The proper way for companies to address this is the way most aircrew do on the flight deck flight deck; leave politics and religion out of it. Just do your job.

Supporting the BLM movement means different things to different people, but I think what Delta is saying here is that we recognize there is a problem and we're not going to be complicit in it. We need to have more honest discussions than what have been playing out. But that's my interpretation.

I'm talking about the airlines openly supporting a communist movement that is not a good direction for our country to go. You can say what you feel BLM actually is and means, but looking at the facts it is an openly racist movement used to divide Americans even further. BLMs plan to fight racism is with more racism. Police violence with more violence. MLK Jr. would be rolling in his grave if he saw what the US has done to freedom and race relations. My point of all of this, regardless of where you stand, is airlines should stick to what they do best, move passengers from A to B. That is it.

Dismantling nuclear families block quote
We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

I have noticed that those who support BLM often support it for different, less divisive reasons than some of those found on the BLM website. I don’t think the difference between the “movement” and the “organization” is effectively publicized and appreciated. I personally did not realize until recently that BLM is a loosely organized collection of local chapters, so one cannot define the organization or the movement by the comments of a handful of local BLM chapter members/leaders quoted in the media.
It’s a shame that in many cases the divisiveness of a few gets most of the airtime while the wonderful, unifying, positive and equitable elements of the movement get glossed over in the media. I think if those elements were better understood, many would have fewer reservations about lending visible support to the movement.

I agree with you fully! Now Try and apply your critial thinking in the same fashion for Trump supporters and "white supremacists".
As for visible support, I would gladly support if BLM chapters denounced public racism directed to white people, assaulting cops, and violent rioting under the name of BLM. Once you denounced that stuff we could have a conversation, otherwise you are complicit in the destruction of our Republic.

Politics is fun but we should get back to business with a crystal ball peering contest. When are we going to start hiring again? Or get 175s?
