I think you may misread that. All the MEC is doing is not letting the company to assign days off for the DGI using SSP language because not all pilots have the DGI so it subserverts seniority. They are negotiating a way to allow the DGI guys the days off in a manner that also gives benefits to nonDGI pilots. This has nothing to do with career progression or progression programs. I could be wrong, but im fairly confident that'd how I read that memo.

I think what the email is saying is that the company cannot pre-assign the days off because it subverts seniority and they don't want to make a contract provision to benefit a non-contractual program.
However, this is no way prevents a pilot from getting the days off necessary for the interview. I'm guessing the company will ask the pilots to bid for those days off and if they don't get them they will give them unpaid leave.

By the way, on the topic in which I most recently brought up, let’s congratulate Trans States on their recent FLOW agreement to Frontier. Don’t laugh at it though. Frontier pays crap but it’s a great short-term investment which comes with a globally valuable Airbus rating.

And give frontier time. They will have Spirit-level contract soon I’m sure.
The Gods and Goddesses at Delta will soon be watching their own subsidiary’s pilots seek employment at other companies.
