I think were just very fat in ATL at the moment. Once we start covering more and more EV flying we will see that percentage go down. However, I do think there should be a limit to which they can set the reserve percentage to. If they overstaff a base, spread the credit out for 70% of the pilots, and only 30% are on reserve. That’s their problem if there’s only 60 credit hours per pilot to go around.

I don't post much, but I read a lot. And I find most of HighFlight's posts to be informative and accurate.

At least he doesn't try to tell people that SIC can be logged based on whether or not a headset is used.

Agree. 60 credit hours still gets everyone currency and proficiency. If we are fat in ATL, why bring in 19 TDY 900 FOs? If it is it to spread the NYC fat, then other domiciles are worthy too.

I got no idea what your talking about with SIC.

While highflight might be trying hard to turn the webboard around to something other than a hive of scum and villany, the responsible thing to do in many of these Q&A sessions is to point a pilot at the book (and then fleet standards if theres a question) or the contract (and the union when-not if- there are questions).

I understand the desire to help, but teaching a pilot to fish is more important than spoon feeding handouts. Doesn't mean the good natured folks on here are actually bad, but how many times have you answered a question and found out later you were completely wrong? Sorta wrong? Maybe you wish you hadn't answered the question at all? It's human to help, and very human to error when your not an subject matter expert.

I understand you all are going to do whatever you want anyway, but even this millennial knows enough to not trust well meaning people on the internet.

In other news.. News from the new hire class this morning is that they're offering captain seats to new hires on the 200? For whatever that's worth.

Maybe that's something we already knew? Just throwing that out there!

Per the union email last week it seems we may see a 18-01.5 vacancy to help fill those slots with guys like me who are barely short of the requirements
