Anyone able to assist with the 401K?
There's two options on the website; "Start Easy Enroll and Start Standard Enroll".. Easy Enroll gives me the option for 8%, 10% and 12%. Standard Enroll seems to be a bit more complex. Starting Jan 1 2018 the company will match 100% of 3%.. So I would think I should put in 6% but there isn't an option for 6%. Thanks! |

Also I believe to capture the full match you'd only have to do 3% as it is 3% on 3% however if you look long term, 15% is a much more reasonable level to have enough money to retire on. Unfortunately a lot of people get caught up in the match and think that's how much they should save. The sooner you start saving, the more money it's worth at retirement, so do the 15% as early as you can. You won't miss it. |
Investing more is usually better than less, that is true. But before you exceed the company match in your 401K, you would be better off putting money into a Roth IRA.
The best way to do it is to meet the company max match in the 401K, then switch to your Roth(s), putting away into that until it is maxed out ($5,500 single, or double that if married, plus the $1,000 catch up if you are older). THEN go back and increase your 401K if you wish to save more.

Doesn't make much difference. You're just trying to turn it on now, once you've got a fidelity login you can change the contribution amount every week if you'd like. In my experience the changes take effect on the next paycheck (if it's not tomorrow) but I think their documentation say 1-2 paychecks.

As such if you're interested in a Roth you're better served to do it within the 401k with its associated higher contribution limits (18K vs 5,500). If the 18k doesn't get you to 15% then go to an IRA and then after tax investing. As well, I don't believe the Roth 401k is subject to a max income limit, at some point you lose the ability to contribute to a normal Roth. (In case your spouse makes a lot of money) |

Some questions regarding Endeavor:
I'm currently at another regional.. have the time to upgrade (4000 total, 1500 part 121) 1. On apc.com it says upgrade minimums include 1000 hours at the company - is that the case of if you come in w/ the time can you potentially upgrade quicker? 2. what's the latest on the -200s… are they going to get rid of them or not? I'd made anything work but I'd much prefer the -900. I'm also not fussy about base; I know NY has it's headaches re: cost of living, etc, but I'd be ok with anything. 3. last I checked, the retention bonuses went through 2018.. any word on if it's going to be extended? 4. if it's not necessary to have 1000 hours at the company for upgrade, and you upgrade fairly quick, is reserve going to be eternity? I don't really want to make a lateral move; however where I'm at, hardly anyone (and I do mean hardly anyone) gets hired at majors; it's mostly a lateral move or a move to a place like Frontier or Spirit or Atlas to then have a chance to move again to a bigger place, if that even happens. Having the Delta interview would sure be nice, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) being at a place that has had people hired at some other big companies would be nice.. |

Exact numbers are subject to change but that’s the trend. Overall fleet growth is projected. 3. We just voted in pay rates that replaced the bonus. 4. You’ll be on reserve for a while. At least 1-2 years depending on the aircraft and base |

Currently the 1000 hours company is being waived due to lack of available people that have all the requirements to upgrade, and because of that- people in Indoc have been awarded captain. But if you want to upgrade to captain right out of the gate, your going to have to wait a long time (2-3 years for a line)... maybe you will be lucky and reseve will only be a year and a half. We are retiring 15 CRj 200s between the november 2017 and june 2018. while we are retiring those, we are getting 33 crj900s and 700s in the same time frame. All retention bonuses end on 12/31/2017 and new higher pay rates begin 1/1/2018. |
