I'm one of them. I plan on withdrawing as I would be only 7 from the bottom on the 900 captain side. Based on what's happening on the 200 there I would be there for who knows how long? Wouldn't be bad if I lived within call out time, but that's not me. I truly didn't think there would be any msp secondarys awarded

Those weren't secondary vacancies; they're people senior enough to hold MSP. They're merely the first wave of folks that will eventually shove the bottom guys out (including me).

Umm, yes they were secondary vacancies. The initial vacancy announcement had "0" vacancies for MSP 900 Captain. Therefore anybody awarded MSP 900 captain was the result of someone leaving. The only primary vaccines for 17-04 were for Atlanta. A displacement or realignment will push push the bottom out. Look for that next year on MSP 200 if people don't move on their own

Why do that . Let yourself be displaced and go where your seniority can hold

Because I'm new to this, I'll ask...

We get told to, "bid what you want."

Did you not do that? Or did you get displaced?

What's your story and what did you bid vs. what you expected, etc?

I want to learn these details and this odd system.

Ah, that is true. And I do want Minneapolis. But I live 250 miles away so reserve is not good for me. It would be perfect if I could hold a line. This vacancy is very different from most as they are opening a new 900 base with 70 Captain spots. It's kinda hard to predict how the award will look in the end. So once awarded a different base or position make a list of pros and cons and make a decision. The only ones that you can't withdraw from are involuntary or a displacement. There haven't been any displacements for a while now. But that's a possibility next year when they eliminate the MSP 200 base

Check the award, chief. MSP secondary vacancies filled = 0.
