There's a guy that drives from PHL to JFK. O problem. He's happy with it.

I know a few guys that take the train or DH into NYC. Lots of ways to do it. I also side with Avroman. Apply at Piedmont and be based in PHL. Not to mention you have the AA flow in your back pocket.

I've flown with on guy who does this commute. He told me he drives it most of the time. The reasoning for that choice was besides rush hour it was quicker to drive. He would drive in early and he would bid early shows and late duty offs. That way traffic wasn't as big a problem. He did say that on occasion if it worked he would air commute, knowing if he missed a flight there was a train available to get him back to the airport and his car. He did say that his commute was not difficult.

Bases come and go. Staffing has and ebb and flow. If you base your airline choice on today's bases and staffing at those bases in an attempt not to commute you will he heart broken. If you expect to have a high QOL with time off and schedule flexibility you will probably need to commute at some point. Folks who don't end up being miserable, hating the industry, and blaming the airline for their choice to hold a reserve line.

I have spoke with several of my FO's in the past three months that have said if we don't get proper compensation and solid career progression in this next contract they will leave for an American carrier .
I've worked for both Envoy and Endeavor. Envoy does not even compare to Endeavor. Yes Envoy has the flow, they had it when I started in 2011 and my class is still 4 years from flowing. It is very hard to get hired off the street to American if you work for Envoy so plan on spending a decade before you flow. If you live in base for Envoy, don't mind making less money, 6 month wait to complete training or the crappy management then by all means go to Envoy.

Secondly, the 2000 hour "know-it-alls you are referring to are not at fault here. Take your BS elsewhere.
