I was blown away.
Then I looked it up for myself.
Literally none of those airlines pay 23000+ bonuses to all the pilots.
Only Endeavor does.

PSA: 21k with type (15k wo)
Pdt: 20k with type (15k wo)
Envoy: 20k with type (15k wo?)
All of their hourly is higher than ours and they get commuter rooms.
PSA and envoy also get that 10k per year kicker until they upgrade then get a CA retention bonus I believe.
However, look at Air Wisconsin's new package for real inspiration...
First year $35
Second year $41
8% 401k match
25% insurance premium share
$57,000 in sign-on bonus. Which is the highest in the industry. First installment of $5,000; paid on first paycheck. $26,000 to be paid upon completion of IOE, and $10,000 to be paid after first anniversary. $8,000 is to be paid out quarterly in year three if the pilot has not been upgraded to Captain. The remaining $8,000 is paid to pilots who join Air Wisconsin from a Part 91K, 121, or 135 carrier with an ATP and type rating in an aircraft greater than 12,500.
So if you go with a type you will have received 49k in bonuses within the first 13 months if I understand correctly.

Guys who got screwed on the SSP or some other way by Delta are out to grind an axe. "Don't wear the hat, don't do this, don't do that, screw Delta let's stick it to em." Still trying to burn the ship to the ground to prove a point. Good luck with your neon lanyards and strong arming Delta. You guys actually make me want to wear the hat.

This is why we should have pushed back in 2012.... 2 weeks wind down instead of 8 months... or a reasonable contract... Too bad most had a foot out the door and most of the rest had to eat crap because most of the rest were screwed already. Better yet we should have dropped every pilot's resignation on the bench and flushed this turd down the drain.

Glad you blew yourself away with your inability to understand total compensation. You go with your bad self.
$23K is the second-highest bonus being paid (go look at Air Whiskey). But did you compare hourly wages? M&IE rates? Most places dip in year 2 & 3, which we don't (yet, until/if the 83 hour "pay raise" takes effect). But we are no longer leading the industry in first year pay. 2nd? Perhaps; I quit looking because it really doesn't matter any longer.

Even if the company contributes more, what happens if you draw your 401K in a year(s) like 2007/08? What then?
Unless you are getting a 16% contribution such as Delta offers, or something like FedEx does, your 401K is simply a promise made in smoke.
