Interesting (and concerning) that the issues sound a lot more creative than your average 'was handflying and didn't follow the RNAV track precisely enough' error.

These guys should be embarrassed. The memo has some examples from last month in it. Some are as clueless as heading mode with a 90 degree turn on an RNAV Departure. How was that not caught? I'm far from perfect but some things make you scratch your head.....really representing us well in the motherland.

I'm not even sure what to say here. I mean, we've been doing R-nav departures for many years. ATL, DFW, among others? Why suddenly is there a problem? Seems like if anyone should be embarrassed it's the training department. I guarantee they'll be concentrating on this in the future. But yes, it does raise some concerns

Careful, I resemble that remark. Seriously, i got a couple ATL turns on my first trip out of OE, and didn't encounter anything that a good briefing didn't help with. I've made my share of rookie captain mistakes, but what kind of stuff is giving new captains a reputation?

Resemble all you want...do I really need to write a book on this? Just for starters you new guys are writing stuff up in the book that is already MEL'd....I've also seen written up FDR status message...and guess what the employee numbers are that I see over and over again???

Well you can exclude me from the "you new guys". I've never done any of that stuff, and I never will.

Can we Jumpseat (obviously not in the cockpit) on express jet to Canada? Want to go EWR-YHZ tomorrow and not sure what the protocol is. Thanks!
