I appreciate your effort in portraying a good picture, but i think your numbers are a bit off...
For example, I count not 22, but 122 folks hired between Dec 08 and Oct 14.
200 CAs for May in DTW. (Your numbers were a bit different from mine here as well. Didn't take the time to go thru the other domiciles. Obviously, the upper RSV folks are there by choice.).

Fair enough; I was in a hurry and I didn't look at the awards for the count, I simply used the May PBS awards. So we are going to be off a few counts at the bottom. No biggie.
The 22 vs. 122 is a little bigger. I looked at the date range you mentioned on the 17-02 ISL, and counted the 122. They are not all in order, you have to go up a little bit to get 2-3 additional folks for some reason.

For any airline commute to work, you should plan on 2 flights that can get to your sign in at or before your show time. This also depends on the policy in place at your airline. How you do it is up to you. You can commute in the day of your trip or if you have an early show, it would require you to come in the night prior.
Most people who commute prefer a later show, so that can come in on the same day. At the end of the trip, they prefer an earlier end time, so that can commute home.
It's best not to commute, but if you have to do it the best ones are the 1 leg, 1hour ones on your own metal or parent company.

No, there won't be. You might be able to 2 leg it ATL-xxx-LGA via a company plane, but rarely is hub to hub flying done with an RJ.

I think there are 20 flights or more a day from ATL to LGA whereas there are only 6 flights a day from ATL to JFK.
I think most of the DAL flights are mainline. Not sure what flight numbers are 9E. With ATL opening up as a base I suspect they may have some CRJ flights to NY as well.
The one thing you have to be prepared for is DELAYS. You may land there 30 minutes early and get to the gate LATE.

Not really, they may use you to cover an LGA trip. However, if they do that they must provide you Cab to and from LGA. It's considered a Dead head. So you get paid for 1 hour each way. If you're based in JFK for example you will always start and end a trip in JFK unless your last leg is a Dead head then you can request and alternate deadhead back home wherever that maybe. Hope this helps ...
