The NY & NJ Port Authorty is announcing plans to close the LGA blast fence in early 2019.
Look out for a full color memo in your v-files.
Or on top of the 'neatly piled' Jepp revision.

As far as why, I've been told it's to make the non-rev list realistic because booking our jumpseats actually make us show up on the non-rev list. Anyone viewing the non-rev list wouldn't have any clue that a jumpseater was on that list. There's no way to discern that. If it's a flight that's close to full it could convince another non-rev to not even show up at the gate so it wouldn't be fair to them.

I don't know if this is reason they don't want 9E to do it but I'm just passing on our reasons because they do exist despite the confusion.
Not even the same. Once you guys list for the Jumpseat it's yours. The only way it might not work out is if the Jumpseat is deferred or the FAA needs it. For Endeavor on Delta we never know if we get the Jumpseat until 15 prior to departure. For that reason alone it's good to have a backup plan and also be listed in the back. Sometimes I'm even listed as number two for the Jumpseat just in case the Delta person doesn't show up. And if the gate agent insists on removing me from my non-rev listing I just go and re list. It sucks to have mainline show up 15 - 20 minutes prior after all the cabin seats have been assigned

Easy, man. I wasn't comparing JS policies. I was offering a reason as to why multiple listings on the same flights would be prohibited.

It's very simple. List for a flight as a non-rev, days in advance. When you get to the gate, if it looks like you may not get a seat, ask for the JS. Get a CA pass. The system will list you as both (you will see your name twice on the app). If a seat opens in back, they give you a seat in back. If not, you walk down the jet bridge with the CA pass in hand.

You didn't list twice; the system does it for you when you ask to be put on the JS. You won't "lose your place in line" for a non-rev seat doing this.

I'm fine, thanks. I was only trying to point out the differences between mainline and offline Jumpseat listing. It totally makes sense why you guys can't list for both.

Every regional has had pilots jump ship for progression, both laterally and upwards. Nothing special here.

My opinion is based on the facts I have learned. Not saying I know all the facts, certainly not as much as those who have been in this industry for 10-25 years. Yes, it is shifting towards the flow, no argument from me there. Yes, it favors younger folks. And yes, it can go away in a moment if AA decides it isn't needed anymore. Just as DL can add it anytime they want to. It's all about the financial needs of the mother company.

You're not wrong about the DGI and flow, I am just saying the DGI can happen sooner (today) than at any WO. 6 years is the PREDICTION spouted by many, but to date, no flow has ever gone to AA in 6 years that I am aware of. (Based on reading posts here from various people who can see the lists that we cannot)

The flow is a good thing, and the DGI can be a good thing too. Are they golden carrots? Nope, just regular old refrigerator ones. For young people.

You mentioned being a newbie and being able to flow in 6 years, you'd jump on it, right? Now picture yourself as a newbie that is 50, or 55 years old. Would either the flow or the DGI matter to you? Not one bit. See, they are only carrots for a certain audience.

But we can revisit this as long as you like, it is always interesting to see where things go. Kind of like reading that old UAL news release a few years ago where they let AWAC go, didn't want to be in business with them. My how things have changed!

Thanks for the discussion. I appreciate your insight.

I asked the question because I think your opinion would be different based on facts. The industry is shifting towards regionals with flow capability. If I was told I could flow to AA in 6 years as newbie...where do I sign up? ..Is EDV a great place to work for?....yes!....however the competition is getting tight....trust me...just watch. If I'm wrong I'll own up to it.

Av8er1550 didn't specify if his/her flight in question was a 9E flight or mainline. I was operating under the assumption it was his/her company metal so I offered a reason as to why he/she was scolded.

It wouldn't surprise me if the gate agents got our pilot uniforms confused and assumed he/she was mainline and then used my scenario as the basis for his/her scolding.

100-1 shot bet placement. We open ORF, buy Air Wisconsins mx hanger as they move out and fly for united and operate it as a outstation mx crew base. Hey, it fits all the geographical parameters that was given to us 🤔

Jk Atl
