Thanks
Thanks for the Thanks... Trust me when I tell you that appreciation from the flight department goes a long way.. Just know that for the first couple weeks after ExpressJet Mx kicks in for us things may be a little kinked... I'm sure we can get another "gold standard" video from Ed to make everyone warm and fuzzy though.. The only thing Ed and gold have in common is the brick up his ***

I know 3 people well inside of 500 that have left within the last few months and I'm not far behind them. What's that leave...46? 😊

Anyone have any idea how the whole, no ready reserve experiment in NY went? It went dead silent all the sudden. At the rate I'm getting assigned ready reserve these days in Minni, I might as well rent out a room in the Mezzanine level and move in.
Last I heard is it was going good. They still have not re-implemented ready reserve at the New York airports yet.

Why is Ready Reserve so bad....
Strictly from the viewpoint of a commuter: Why is ready reserve worse than short call reserve? Spend 14 hours at a crash pad, or 8 hours in ready room....
I see the preference for someone living under base 0:30 drive from check in. (under base - to be that close at a major metropolitan airport, you pretty much gotta be living under the base leg ) Even then, you cant go too far from home - so gotta sit at home, shaved and showered - no?

Pro for commuters:
Later report times, earlier release times.
(I could fly in same day to start a reserve period with PM ready reserve and at the end of a week I was home 5 hrs earlier.)
Cons for commuters:
Chances of getting called are reduced. Chances of getting an overnight out of it even lower.
