Do you get to bid for certain reserve days, or does the company just assign them?

You can also use a different system to try to swap, drop, or trade days if you don't like the schedule assigned. Thanks to that I just started a nice 5 day stretch of days off! Just in time for the NLCS

What is the call out time for reserves these days? I'm considering Endeavor if the legacies don't come calling after I leave active duty especially since I'll be living in Detroit. I'll likely be about 30-45 min drive from DTW. Is that enough time to sit on reserve from my couch in my underwear while watching The View? What is this ready reserve that everyone is talking about?

How does Endeavor compare to ExpressJet? I really don't want to commute and it appears that those are the only regionals based in DTW unless I'm missing something.

Also curious about the "ready reserve" and callout time.

I actually wouldn't be watching Oprah or the The View lol.... is there any company policy about giving flight instruction Part 91 while sitting reserve ?

1:45 for MSP/DTW
2:00 for LGA/JFK

It's not allowed. Besides how could you answer a call from scheduling if you are in the air with your phone off? And thanks to FAR 117 the only paid flying outside of the company allowed is military flying (you can still fly your own 152 on your off time all you'd like as a private pilot)

Ready Reserve is 8 hour shifts at the airport with the expectation that you can be at a gate ready to fly in 15 minutes. Kinda tedious, but at least the DTW crew room is better than the MSP crew rooms!
