There is a lot of turnover in NYC. If by some bizarre event you don't get awarded it initially, you'll hold it before the end of training probably.

Probably. It may grow again when the 200s are done in NYC. The MSP900 base I don't foresee getting much bigger.

I wouldn't be surprised if DTW and/or MSP shrunk. I wouldn't be surprised if DTW even closed its doors in a year or two! Seriously, how much smaller is it going to get??

Maybe I'm being too bitter and cynical, but I've been here long enough to plan for the worst.

Any idea when 17-01 will be announced?

If you want dtw/msp, better bid over to the 200. 75% of the 900 flying will be in NYC by the end of the year.

I'm pretty senior, so I can easily hold either one. I'm just tired of seeing more and more flying moved out east.

...You do realize that DTW is still the largest individual 200 base by nearly double right? In terms of total pairings including the 2 and the 9 all 4 bases are about the same size except MSP is about 12% smaller than the rest.

February pairing credit:

DTW: 200: 4502 900: 4750 Total: 9252
JFK: 200: 2750 900: 6948 Total: 9698
LGA: 200: 2669 900: 6555 Total: 9224
MSP: 200: 2852 900: 5321Total: 8173

DTW is in no danger of closing, and saying such on a public forum is reckless IMO. DTW is still easily attainable for new hires within a few months of being on the line. Do your 2-3 month punishment in NY and move on.

Dtw isn't going anywhere.
Dtw-msp 900 will have displacements tho.

900 will surely decrease but I don't think they will displace. They have said as much. They will use attrition to drive the pilot group down

Probably by 1-2 AC in the short term. Then grow as bases get fully staffed. We're adding 14 AC this year, so hard to shrink any base.
