They also REQUIRE doctor's notes if you call in sick during the last two weeks, to determine if you have met the "two week notice" requirement.
This was sent to us via email on July 29th 2013 in a FastRead:

Attention Pilots who are planning to continue their career at a different airline: Please be aware that two-week notices are recorded within your PRIA. Recently, there have been pilots who have submitted Resignation notices without the standard two-weeks, all while not realizing this is recorded in the PRIA records and also, some didn’t know what PRIA was. Please educate yourself with PRIAs and note that the “no 2-weeks given” will stay on your PRIA for at least 5 years.

PRIA, Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 (PRIA), requires that a hiring air carrier under 14 CFR parts 121 and 135, or a hiring air operator under 14 CFR part 125, request, receive, and evaluate certain information concerning a pilot/applicant’s training, experience, qualification, and safety background, before allowing that individual to begin service as a pilot with their company.

Then about a month ago I was scheduled for an interview and HR of this new company had mentioned a class date that was only 5 days after my interview. So I decided to ask about the repercussions of not giving 2 weeks notice, and heres what I got from 9Es Senior Labor Relations Counsel/MEC Coordinator. Shes always been great with questions about our contract, and I trust her word:

The only repercussion of not providing 2 weeks’ notice is that you will not be paid out for the vacation you are accruing this year to be used next year. In other words, you will be paid out for any vacation you are eligible to take this year but haven’t yet used, but you won’t receive any payment for the vacation you are accruing during this year for next year.

In any case, there are not any other penalties, and no black mark is placed upon your record. In future PRIA requests, Endeavor would simply send your dates of employment and the records they must provide, but there wouldn’t be any reference made to the fact that you had not given 2 weeks notice.
Im going to assume that the company lied to our MEC and gave them false information.

No it's not "lol"... you are the problem. You think this is all a joke. $5 says you've never sat in on negotiations between ALPA and (insert company).

Are you, or are you not okay with "no-showing" something you have scheduled?

Be a good soldier and do what you are told. PS you don't have the $5 because you concern yourself with this nonsense. Right now I'm busy leafing through law books trying to look up that part about 2 weeks is required.

I would call to cancel only because I think it is the right thing to do. I don't need some third party organization like alpa to tell me what to do nor do I concern myself with something that is clearly none of their business.

Is it possible that the OP’s hear say is also somehow related to the 35% DCI Alpa hiring that was in the Deta TA or did that go down? I heard form a non reliable source that the “Delta” test is given at the CP, 9E, and EV interviews presumably with a lower passing score. Either way these people’s parents should have raised them to honor their commitments, and on a brighter note if it is true just less people who will be competitive at Delta.

I totally believe this. I would want to do this if it was my business I was responsible for.

There is nothing in the process that reveals someone's true character this well as this type of disrespect.

No one is advocating no showing for classes the discussion is about whether Delta keeps a secret black list of Endeavor no shows.

What about the way that DAL treats 9E? Is it not a "mutual" respect between an employer and the employee? The guys/gals at 9E are treated so abhorently bad in regards to pay/work rules & treatment and most of them just think that it's the way it is. Yet they are crawling over themselves just to get to DAL. And it's the same management group that's treating them like garbage in the first place. Even though it may be better, it's still the same management. There are other shows around.

Endeavor and Delta are the same company legally, read the DAL 10K if you don't believe me. The difference between the two is what CBA you'll be working under. So when you no show to your Endeavor pilot interview, you are no showing to a Delta company interview.
