You're speaking from hindsight. Things are changing rapidly in the regional industry, and is much different today than a year ago. Could they have shut us down overnight? Probably not. I do remember that Delta was soliciting many other carriers to take on extra airplanes and flying, and many were cranking up their hiring. Additionally, people at Skywest, ASA, GoJets, are much too eager to pick up extra flying and airplanes at others expense for the betterment of their quality of life, showing a total lack of unity at the regional level. Comair was a good example of that. Look, all I'm saying is if you didn't work at Pinnacle you really have no idea of how bad it was there. Those guy/gals were beat down for many many years. It's real easy to be Monday morning quarterback when the game is done.

Holdd on there bud, Skywest has not and will not take concessions to gain flying. We've actually turned down flying because it would be at a financial loss. Don't blame others for the way YOU voted.

Interesting how you got that out of my post. I never mentioned Skywest taking concessions to gain flying. What I'm referring to is the way mainline whipsaws everyone against each other. If it wasn't so easy to move airplanes around we wouldn't be in this mess, but that's the nature of a contract business. Furthermore, the regional industry was on a downhill slide way before the Pinnacle debacle.

I have been saying that there was no way they could transfer all your flying and shut you down overnight from the very beginning... I tried to communicate the fact that management is notorious for spreading doom and gloom to get pilots to keep taking concession after concession(then use those concessions to line their own pockets)!
So, no "hindsight" was involved.

Ok then. I've never thought it could be shut down overnight either, but I do think it would've been a lot quicker than Comair.

Anyone willing to take the risk to come to endeavor now I think will be happy about their decision in a year from now. Every regional is a risk, but interviews and job offers are slowly rising and delta eventually will do what is necessary to make sure people come here becuase they want it to work. I know people will argue this with fleet plan and comairing but times have changed and this will be different IMO.

I believe there are 15 new hires slated for the first class of April. Now, how many show will be the tell. We had an update last week that showed the interview/cjo breakdown and how many interviews were scheduled for this month.

Revisionist history is becoming obsolete with the changes that will be happening to the industry over the next few years. To reference Comair or any other carrier holds no more water. Comair was shut down during the second worst economic conditions this country faced in its existence. You don't think Anderson knew what was going on here when Comair got the bounce? I think it is the sad truth that we were set up to replace Comair as soon as the Delta/NWA merge happened. I hate it for the Comair guys and I hope they've been able to recover.

I, for one, am finally excited about this industry, especially if Eagle and RAH tell their companies to pound sand. I think some real changes are in order and no one will see them coming. We can speculate all we want, but I don't think we've seen the beginning of the industry transformation that is about to take place. The hiring is really just beginning and once it gets going, look out.

P.S. I fixed the bold for ya,
