Both of those sound great - it's the 1000 hrs of turbine time that's hard to come by as an instructor.

Getting into unchartered territory for everyone.

This is going to be interesting how the majors handle this dilemma.

They are the ones that created this regional level in the first place. What do they do if no one wants to come to work at that level?

Dunno how they're going to hire 400, but I know multiple people that are in the training dept that have said the company is worried about not being able to hire enough.
hahah yep - a whiff because I don't get flight ops updates since I'm no longer an employee ;-)
Nice!! Well I hope you're on to greener pastures now.

I guess I can say that instructing is better than being a Colgan FA. However those Colgan pilots that told me I would make more as an instructor than as a first year FO were LYING.

I think SkyWest is a really good regional, because at my airline, we get the least amount of newhires, relative to the regionals size, of any regional.

If you had a nickel every time you heard that then what??? We can barely get 5 people to show up for newhire class. How would we staff another 30 airplanes on top of the 40 we are already getting??? Like I said, to my knowledge the 30 options have not been exercised yet and furthermore, Delta has not named the carrier(s) who will operate them. The article I posted is the first time I have seen in print that it would possibly Endeavor. Thats all. Nothing about working here makes me jump up and down, believe me.
