AB got hired as well, probably the most non-standard pilot I have ever flown with.

Um....what? I understand the Pinnacle vs. Mesaba rivalry but you can't use the training dept at pinnacle to prove we had a better airline. The culture there was horrible! No idea if you are still there, but once you move on to a major you will realize how much better it is when fear and intimidation isn't used. I agree you should learn something during a training event, but busting you on an oral or Sim ride isn't the way to do it.

What really got me was how he made it overly noticeable to adjust himself in his seat when I was getting ready to land. He then hovered within inches of the yoke with both hands for the last couple hundred feet. Ugh...

I guess he should get one commendation though. He's a good enough bull sharter to pull the wool over the hiring folks at DL.
Haha..in was trying to figure out who everyone was referring to as AR. Thanks to your post I figured it out. IIRC, wasn't he telling people years ago how he was offered a job at DL or NW but turned them down?? I wouldn't believe it til he is gone you run into him on a DL flight deck trying to jump seat home.

Probably not. I can't imagine an airline would spend tens of thousands of dollars only to fire you during probation.

The Profile on this website lists JFK as a domicile. What are the chance new hires can do their reserve in NYC?

I would say that would be the most likely place for new hires to go. Although with the realignments coming out, it's been really tough to gauge what base will be junior. Time will tell.

JFK is a 900 base now. It's quite senior actually. We have FO's that have been here at least 3 years that couldn't hold it.

The Pinnacle training department is great if you are a CRJ guru, and have flown nothing other than that. You guys can sit around, and argue over the number of wing rivets in an oral all you want. However, airlines that have multiple different a/c types could never run like that, no one would ever pass.

My last 9E PC was 11 hours start to finish, with all the airwork done at JFK.

The word "great" and "Pinnacle training" should never go together in the same sentence.

No, your last PC was a one time thing an hour brief and 2 hours of flying, and 2 hours of practice oral for the FO and 3 hours of ATP training for the FO, the syllabus of which was made by mostly former XJ guys in the MSP training HQ. We all went thru it one time. but don't let facts and half truths get in the way of a good "my training dept is better than yours" whine and cheese party.

Yeah, let's defend the "checking Department" run amuck at the mighty former Pinnacle.

I'm sure every original 9E pilot is gonna miss that $hitshow.
