At least somebody gets it.
New hires need to read this post and decide whether they wanna take their chances as fresh 2014 new hires under these circumstances.
It's ink on paper guys, written by daddy delta management. Not rumors.
If you think these official plans will not follow through because "regional industry is always changing" then more power to you, if it helps you sleep better at night then have at it. While nothing is ever written in stone, odds of this fleet reduction not happening are incredibly slim, the math is written on the quoted post above.
I wouldn't write a letter to recommend a friend to come over to 9E.

If this is true, then I give up on trying to understand what Delta is really looking for. I just hope he doesn't do something stupid like kick the back of a senior 777 capt. chair while in the sim, like our other shining example of pinnacle did over at the FedEx training center...

Slander? Never said his name, but you seem to have heard the same story I heard. So is the story false? Why is kicker an airbus FO now? Did I say he got fired? He's an FO because he kicked the back of a senior capt chair during a training event, said capt got ****ed made a phone call, got said kicker booted out of training dept, and now said kicker is enjoying the line. Am I wrong? If so please set me straight, because this is the story I got from numerous people. And kicker doesn't know me, so if I ever decided to apply to Fedex, I doubt they would ask him about me.

stay out of this Beavis, don't ruin a good story in these times when morale is low!
but as a side note, if there is one thing I have learned in this industry, is most of the "bad guys" (not all) are given this reputation by some false rumor started by a disgruntled troublemaker. Like the guy I personally saw red screen 2 v1 cuts, forget half the single engine QRH, and and run off the runway after a zero flap landing, then tells his buddies in the crew room "he busted me because I forgot to turn on the cowls on the approach in icing for like 20 seconds."
Or the types that call in sick on every holiday that ***** we need a Dr note, or the guys that ruined our "days off for interviews" just to get days off....

And mooney I agree, there are ALWAYS two sides to every story, especially when it involves a pink slip.
