I can just see it now, 9E guys going over to everyone waiting for a jumpseat and as a "professional courtesy" telling them they have a higher priority. That's going to go over like a lead balloon.
Maybe these other MEC's need to get the word to their pilots.
I know I won't be informing any other DCI pilots that I have a higher priority than them, they can list for the jumpseat and be informed by the gate agent who gets it, just like I will.

I can at least understand from where he's coming from. If you know you have JS priority, it's a professional courtesy to inform yhe other guy so he doesn't get left waiting for an option not available to him. This little deal is another "plus" Delta is giving 9E.
But denying jumpseats is child-like, and even though I've heard those macho CA stories of denying jumpseats, in reality it didn't happen. Except the one time I was flying with the infamous MC, he denied a USA Jet guy because he couldn't find the carrier on the recip list, despite the guy being CASS approved and under class 8 of jumpseaters in the FOM. CASS approved and PIC approval is all you need. Anyway, the guy begged but MC is MC. Or the infamous DTW CA lifer who would show you math on how it wasn't worth for him to go to Delta (JCBA days) and that he was gonna stay put. He had one bad Fedex jumpseat experience where back in the day he lost a jumpseat on fedex to a fedex pilot. Today it's yours when you sign up but back then I guess it wasn't. So his brief to me was he will not take any Fedex jumpseaters. Period.
Gee I wonder why?

Until now, I never jumpseated to commute, only for pleasure. Everytime I told the agent I was traveling for pleasure and if I was bumping anyone going to work, I would give it up. in seven years, I only gave up two seats, but I was glad to.
I have no idea what my priority is/was, so I couldn't have extended the courtesy you expect.

What I was saying only applies to DCI pilots. Everything else is obvious. If I show up to a United plane then obviously United and United Express pilots will get it over me. However, amongst the DCI carriers, now that Comair is gone, it was first come/first serve. 9E's backdoor agreement makes 9E have the same benefit as Comair did when jumpseating. First and above any other DCI carrier. Among DCI pilots, the least that can be done is an email sent out by each of the jumpseat coordinators of Compass/GoJet/ASA/SkyWest/etc about 9E's priority being higher. That way everyone is on the same page.

After Richard Anderson's little gem about rate resets last week, you cannot deny that the decision by the 9E pilot group affects every other pilot group so it is very understandable why there is great anger out there towards 9E pilots.
You guys voted for this, so you have to take the heat for your decision and its affect on other pilots. Just as you had a right to make your decision, other pilots have a right to be very angry with its affect on their careers.

Not saying I agree with this or denying anyone a jumpseat but....

Grow a brain. 86% voted for this. It wasn't even close. Statements like this that refuse to acknowledge the effect of this decision on other pilots just creates more resentment towards the 9E group. Particularly in light of recent actions by the Eagle MEC.

And we all knew about the rate rests happening between 2015-2017 for a while now, these are not unknown that just happened. Why do you think AMR had eagle get a contract adjustment in 2016 shortly after SKW inc does theirs. Wake up people, management doesn't just wake up in the morning and say "today we are going to do a rate reset based on the lowest bidder". This has been planned out for years and the Pinnacle bankruptcy is proof of it.
Keep blaming pilot groups while management enters into these low profit contracts with rate resets.
