Like when our VP said going to United is a “lateral move”. Gimme a break.
That must have been recent. Are you sure you're not talking about the time RE said JB was a lateral move? Cause that definitely happened.

Those words came directly from JG in a town hall, IIRC. Management started tossing that around when AA and UA started hiring us in droves.

Personally, I hadn't heard the term since morale went full-on to ****, though.

I heard it in a recent stands meeting. Russ said and I quote “The lack of profitability by other carriers and poor balance sheets, makes it a lateral if not a worse move. Pilots should plan their future careers accordingly. Delta is coming out of the Covid era stronger than ever”.

Too bad Endeavor won’t be any part of it!

But seriously though.... Get your apps out people. FO's would be better served going to JB and then applying to Delta. That was the old Delta flow. Straight from JB OE to DL indoc....
I wouldn’t hold my breath for that one. I haven’t seen any 9E defectors who went to JB get an interview at DL since 2021. UA has no problems hiring those FOs though. You can thank Russ for that career progression “gift.”

Wasn’t ALPA fully driving the progression campaign? There was always going to be a “be careful what you wish for” element of any deal. A flow guaranteeing 20/mo going was always going to result in a reduction of OTS. I remember folks here being adamant it could run in concert with DGI…

I know 2 personally in 2022 that did this. But it might very well be less than it was. I'm not sure.
