Exclamation When did you leave, and where did you go?

In an effort to compile stats on the pilots leaving our beleaguered airline, when did you leave 9E? (If you're about to leave 9E, congrats! You can join in on the fun too.)
  • Month & year
  • Where you got hired
  • Total Time / Total Turbine / Total TPIC
Our MEC does an excellent job sharing with us how many pilots left and where they went, but as pay rates at our competitors rise far above our measly $53/hr (FO) / $94/hr (CA), let's get serious and understand when we'll be competitive at other carriers.

For reference, here's a top-down view of what happened in August.
  • Total Pilot Attrition: 60
  • 9E Pilots Hired by Delta (Flow): 20
  • 9E Pilots Hired by Delta (OTS): 3
  • Non-DL Attrition: 37

EDIT: I should note, for the sake of anonymity, be as vague (or specific) as you'd like. Not trying to hurt anyone with this, just trying to collect data.

What is the point? You don't need to collect data to understand the payrates are mainly why people are leaving. Are you one of those hoping you can get a couple of extra bucks before the shutdown?

The point is to understand when people became marketable. We can learn a lot by understanding where people stood in their logbooks when they left the company. I suspect it's earlier than many pilots at 9E currently believe.

This may help.

As soon as you hit 500 turbine go to b6 or NK.

As soon as you hit 1000 turbine apply to swa ua and aa.

Attend job fairs!! I've attended 2 this summer and have interviews with SWA and UA. Already interviewed at b6 back in June.

This is helpful. Thank you!

And thank you all for your tips! Any datapoints about our maturity is sure to help our pilot group.

Much appreciated!

yup training pay sucks, but anyone with a brain as new hire and had to chose between EDV and Spirit. It’s a no brainer. Why would you come to EDV? Please tell me what EDV has over spirit?
