New here expectations

Do you show up to work on time and in one piece? Do you stay out of newspaper headlines? If you can answer yes to both of those questions, then airline people don't really care.

I don't know; Anyone willing to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Pretty Shakey! I'd probably have to keep a close eye on them.

Scoured the forum. Good information but as hiring has increased, was hoping I could get a firm grasp of what I’m walking into. Class date is beginning of October. I understand new pilots are new pilots are new pilots but coming from military, trying to fully grasp expectations here at a regional. Thanks for anyone willing to pass info!

Thanks all, yes I was a military evaluator so I’m expecting the training as well as those training next to me to be very different. I’ve noticed the training profiles and classrooms are very different here in the civilian world too. Thanks for the heads up on “we did it this way”. I’ll watch my mouth for that one! Anyone here with class date on October 7th?
Which military?

Also former military (read *older*) guy.
What are some common errors in the sim? What's some commonly missed call-outs that waste sim time by doing maneuvers over again that were otherwise acceptable.
Any techniques to flying the simulator that EDV uses? Every sim has its quirks.
Also how are people taking care of themselves in training - living out of the hotel. What are some good stress relievers in MSP?
Any common trends for success (more specific than "just be awesome" and be a good team player and take responsibility for yourself)
Thanks in advance.

The busiest thing you will do in the sim is go arounds/missed approaches. It's the most elbows and *******s thing we do. Concentrate on chair flying that quite a bit.

Use the armrests. The sims are stupid touchy with terrible feel.

The training hotels are decent with free breakfast and transportation provided. Kitchenettes usually, so you can eat healthy. If you are in MSP in the winter, every winter sport known to man is available, but you may not have much spare time. If a sim breaks, you may get a paid vacation.

Study groups in the hotel lobby work for most folks, but not everyone.
