Reserve and Line
Hey! CFI with no 121 experience here. Considering applying to 9E.
Was wondering what a typical line looks like. I saw a youtube video showing a month at envoy. Theirs looks like 4x 4 day trips or similar. Is that close to what a month at Endeavor looks like?
Also what is a normal reserve schedule prior to holding a line? 4d on, 3d off?

I’ll let someone who’s been here longer answer the line question.
Reserve schedules are whatever your seniority can hold. I’m going on 6 months on reserve and I’ve been able to get every day off I want so far, including Christmas and New Year’s Day. How you bid really kinda depends on whether you live in base or not. Commuters probably want a few days off between reserve days while those in base might not mind stretches of 6 days in a row with single days off in between to maximize days off at the beginning or end of the month. We get 12 days off a month, so in a typical bid period there are 18 reserve days.

Reserve and lines are awarded monthly. Whatever you seniority can hold is what you get. Days off can vary wildly depending on time of the year, equipment, position, base. I've had 21 days off and I've had 15 days off.

Are people bidding for that much time off, or is it just so over staffed that this is happening?

I had days off set but 21 is what was awarded two months in a row. They were pretty overstaffed in LGA so I expect that's why it happened. I can't complain. Free paid vacation basically but after this month I'm going back to 15 days off as is everyone else.
