Easy there, bubba. There were a lot more EDV pilots demanding flow-up than there are currently mainline pilots demanding flow-down. This is purely about what Delta has to do to continue flying the 35 RJs tied to the CPZ LOA. No one said it has to be EDV they must get another agreement with.

Based on past history it will be Endeavor if it comes to that

Well - you guys are not getting a flow down at YX or OO, hell will freeze over before the lifers at OO/YX accept flowbacks in on top of them. Again, DALs attitude is that LOA does with CP. So, there is that.

We may not have to worry about the flow down

can't speak for YX but OO has such a small % of lifers I think they could be outweighed by more junior pilots if delta ties a flow down to DGI style interview in seniority order. I would guess about 10-15% of their pilots are lifers and the rest are trying to leave one way or another.

or DL could tie those 76 seaters to whatever company accepts it
or just accept 35 fewer RJs for the foreseeable future. (this one seems likely given their attitude toward growing flights recently)

as for the LOA, if it dies then so do those 35 175s

OO management injecting 500 DL pilots into the top of the list is a great way to vote a union in. High risk for low reward.

DAL and DALPA renegotiating the LOA presents less problems. All under the assumption that DALPA changes DALs interpretation of said LOA.

If the LOA dies, those 175s are old and tired anyway.

As far as contract language goes, this really can’t be any clearer. Have you considered Delta is blowing smoke up your MEC’s butt to keep them placated for now? IMHO, this issue isn’t over.

this isn’t our MECs issue... this is the DAL MEC issue.

When DL figures out what thier scope is, then we might get to make a decision. If DL has to get “flow down” they will buy it from 9E/OO/YX or whip it up out of thin air. All things being said, the DALPA Furlough Protection Plan fell apart right before the furloughs started.

Oh I agree it’s crystal clear, that being said. Remind me again - how good is YOUR company at honoring YOUR scope clause(s)? How many outstanding violations does DAL have right now?

Now take into consideration that they (DAL) doesn’t even believe this is a violation. Delta’s not blowing smoke up my MECs butt, they are blowing it up your MECs butt. That being said, I sincerely hope your MEC addresses this post-haste. However, it changes nothing for 9E whether or not DAL honors their scope agreement with DALPA. You say DALPA needs a flow down? It’s not happening at YX/OO and the purchase price at 9E is a flow up, of which YOUR company fervently against.

So given all this information, tell me, will the LOA be enforced as it is? Or will it be renegotiated?

You’re preaching to the choir. I know all of this but I will counter by saying DALPA doesn’t need this, the company does...eventually (the RJs that is). In the grand scheme of things I think it will be a drawn out process one way or another; either in contentious negotiations, arbitration, or it’ll continue to not be an issue while jets are parked.
