Default CRJ 200 in NYC

New hire who got assigned to the 200 in LGA. Anyone know how much longer they re planning on keeping them around in NY? I understand the fleet is shrinking pretty quick.

There is a note in the company website:

Flight OPS > Notice/Vacancy/Realignments > Notice/Vacancy/Realignments > Projected 17-05 and 18-01 Realignment Memo

That explains the fleet plan.

Thank you!

I'm guessing reserve time on the 200 in NYC is going to be unfavorable seeing they're cutting it down to 9 lines?

While NYC200 is shrinking, it's not going to totally go away for a while, Id expect to see it as a category for at least another year.

With them parking 200s what is the purpose of the 18 month seatlock in the proposed contract?

To keep folks on the 200. With it shrinking, it will be less desirable, and they need to keep it staffed. Right now a number of folks complete initial on the deuce and then switch to the heavy on the next vacancy.

Bear in mind, like the upgrade seatlock, it can likely be waived as needed.

Also keep in mind the "9 lines" of nyc 200 flying mentioned in the memo, it doesnt mean 9 pilots holding a line. That said, im not sure how many pilot lines that 1 line of aircraft flying is.

I'd feel bad for a new hire who got stuck on the 200 in NYC. The schedules were already well gone to crap back in the summer when I said enough was enough. It's gonna be a slow and painful death for the 200 in NYC and anyone who is unlucky enough to get stuck on it there till the end.

Roughly 5 pilots per seat per line. Plus RSV, of course.
