Non Rev Public Service Announcement

Again no black helicopters here. The agents board the aircraft and then send the final numbers to CLP. The computer comes back with unable to produce a weight and data CG out of limits. They are told how many they have to move back. That's why it always happens after the aircraft is boarded. It usually delays the flight. If it were some screw the non rev program they would assign the seats initially that way. If you flying the leg it's easy to confirm by the final weights.
It only happens with lighter loads on most airframes.

And I am not talking about black helicopters either.

TSquare...Are you saying the company IS out to screw non-revs? Or did I read your post wrongly?

Somewhere over the years someone decided they could convince ground personnel that they too can have the status pilots once had. A newly hired gate agent without any formal education or technical training and making min wage suddenly felt entitled to the same privileges of those in the front of the plane. And the rest is history.

Looks like there was something to this after all. Copied from a Chit Chat thread.
Scoop
Many of you are aware of the issue resolving moving non-Revenue passengers and some DHing pilots to the back of the aircraft and out of Economy Comfort seats "due to weight and balance".
This issue came to light late last week, and a big impetus was the postings in this thread
https://thehangar.forumchitchat.com/...00545?trail=15
Several of you contacted your Reps. I contacted the CPO and had a very pointed discussion with the MEC Administration.
I received the following information today:
The MEC Administration was made aware of this issue this weekend. They acted immediately to contact S.D. on Sunday. Captain S.D. found out that indeed non-Revs and DHs were indeed being used as MD-88 "sandbags" on light-load flights. Apparently, prior to ALPA contact, S.D. was not aware of this practice.
Today, S.D. on his Flight Ops conference call that this practice must stop immediately.
It appears that this was a low-level initiative that Flight Ops was not aware of, but when confronted by MEC Leadership, Flight Ops quickly agreed with ALPA position that this practice should cease.
Thank you to everyone who contacted the CPO or your ALPA Reps regarding this issue.

I've had it happen before. Wide open 757. Figured first class was a sure thing, then told all non-revs to be loaded at rear. I don't really care if I get free drinks. Now that Delta studio is free in all seats, I don't really care if I get a window or aisle with an empty center seat.
