People like to throw that out there for some reason, yet they don't seem to know what they are talking about. My pay gets bumped to 5:15 a duty period, and I finally get cancellation pay protection. The rest of the raise is the same thing you get.

I didn't see any "5:15" in Section 11.
You fail to mention, as most SLIs do, that you get paid the highest rate that you can hold (in your position) as a result of your status as an instructor. That results in a pay raise the is NOT "the same thing as you." SLIs average around 25% more pay than their peers that are holding the same category on the line.

True this. And when you look at how it's pretty much a mission impossible for any commuter, it seems like a pretty peachy gig (pun intended) for those who drive golf carts to kids' soccer games.
