Our pilot group is weak. It's not an option. Summer schedule was covered easily. Hell, 717 B schedule was covered in May even though we were under the contractual numbers. GSWC went out, but schedule still covered. We are GS and WS *****s. You're living in a dream world. Maybe 3-4 years down the road, guys will lose motivation. I'm inclined to vote yes for the first time in my career because I have come to realize how weak our group is as a whole.

Sometimes I think you guys can't comprehend that it's not just about the money. And when you respond with "ok hotshot, what is it then", well you sort of just proved my point. No concessions, no QOL givebacks, the company doesn't need it, and you are not stepping on my back for your quick payday before you leave. Sorry

If the two of you want to be in the end, that's your business. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)
I'm waiting until a TA actually materializes before I decide on my vote.

The problem is one person's sell out is another's good deal. Let's see what they come up with. The extreme and polarizing viewpoints on either side seem to be the loudest and do a lot to pull us all apart. Either way it goes we'll be a lot better off together than we will be calling each other names and pointing fingers at each other.

Hawaii, I know where you stand. Its no surprise to me that you are willing to sell concessions for a meager pay raise. Ill even support it if its the will of the majority. I, for one, will never sell out. I can sleep well at night knowing this. If it takes over 1.5 million dollars to sell something, you know it is garbage. Already this upcoming TA looks like it garbage. I hope I am wrong.

I prefer to take a look at what they come up with and make a informed decision like I would with my own business.

I hope you're wrong too. Pretty easy though, to say no to anything that comes down if it involves negotiation. Never have to take responsibility for anything and you'll be the "never voted yes" guy to everyone you fly with. You can't lose and you'll still benefit when a good deal passes.

History says you can wait but in the end you will get the same basic contract. It just happens years later. Delta in general got their contracts done close to on time. Other airlines fought for years almost every contract. In the end they would sign a agreement within 1% or 2 % of what they could have had near the amendable date. Sometimes they signed for less like AMR's prior contract. The lifetime loss of earnings doing that is staggering even if the contract you sign may be industry leading.
Google and read as much as you can on the RLA and NMB and their philosophy on controlling negotiations.
