Depending on your long range plans and family situation, consider other bases too. I am a former mil guy who - on paper - had some good reasons to be MSP-based. After nearly 2 years of waiting in line for MSP and seeing what the long term seniority would be there, we bailed on that plan and moved to ATL. 2 years into it...our departure from Minnesota has been a huge plus: seniority, cost of living, climate/weather, ability to fly so many places direct...just to name a few.

My advice is to challenge your own assumptions before jumping into a situation that might not be the best for you & your family in the long run. We call our 2-year experience the Minnesota Experiment. It failed.

It will be interesting to see how the new hire class chooses on these options.

Crazy how junior lax is going. I guess now that the base is growing there aren’t that many people that want to live there.

Also bad traffic, smog, politics. But the weather and sunsets are great!

I think I saw somewhere else that LAX domicile actually puts you on the hook for 4 different airports, which would have the potential to really suck.

It’s worse: 5 airports.
LAX
BUR
LGB
ONT
SNA

So long as we have SEA and SLC, LAX will be the laft coast version of NYC.

I hope single categories aren't actually covering all 5 in a given bid month?

There haven’t been any mainline flights out of BUR or LGB for years. Haven’t seen a ONT trip for ages. Commuters might want to avoid SNA but OC residents and San Diegans love them.

Default CVG

What’s the long term plan for CVG? Se a couple of 737 drops there, attrition or growth?

As far as I can tell, there is no long term planning at this airline when it comes to bases and staffing. Just look at the old CR updates concerning the 717 and C100.
