It is not correct. I know of at least one guy who got MD-88 ATL today.

I think it was a joke, the drop was posted on page 147.

The MOAB created the MOADrops. Since MD88 training is full they only sent 3 this drop, creating the most scattered drop I've ever seen.

That drop on 147 was last week's. From RST Delta on Facebook, this week was:
2 lax 7er
2 nyc 73n
4 atl 320
4 nyc 320
10 atl 88
4 atl 717
2 dtw 737

No details on order, and the class started Tuesday this week due to Labor Day.

They find two leg options through your "desired" destination which they assume you won't take the second leg. Great if you don't end up needing to check a bag...
I had one Delta guy on a jumpseat at LAS, anyway he said he was based in ATL but lived in DFW and that he buys his own tickets once the schedule was out, about 4 times per month. I thought he was joking but he sounded pretty serious. He said he had been DFW based for years, never moved, and that the commute from DFW/ATL is absolutely horrendous.

If he is an 88 guy, it is a true statement.

There are several guys that do this. They do Fly Confirmed for Less and are all Platinum/Diamond Medallion. Not a bad plan if you can spare the $$. Reduced stress and first class home would be worth it!

I do this in and out of Florida if the commute starts to look stressful.

I feel ya. I leave 15 minutes earlier than usual for my 35 minute drive to base if it looks "stressful".
