I honestly wouldn't feel confident stating which upgrade will happen fastest with a lot in flux in the months ahead. Could actually be DTW 717, or it could be ATL M88. Categories opening/closing, retirements accelerating, freezes lengthening... crystal balls are pretty cloudy, IMHO. I think a lot of people have been waiting to make a move with this next massive AE, and a lot of others will wait one more to see where the dust settles and avoid the 365-day conversion uncertainty.

All will be clear after Crew Resources drops the MOAB's this month.

... and assuming you mean upgrade to Captain, you don't HAVE to upgrade on the equipment you get as a new hire. Flying M88B as a newbie and upgrading to 717A wouldn't be too problematic. 7ERB with no prior 121 time quickly upgrading to ATL M88 A (once reaching 1000 hours) could be near suicidal.

Thanks for the info, I was just curious.

Thanks! What's "7ERB" and "M88 A?" I'm familiar with 7ER and M88, but not the A and B suffixes.

A is captain, B is FO.

With the 88 category slated to be parked I would place my money on the DTW 717 or maybe even the NYC 73N. Once the shuffling settles with the moving of the 88 category out of NYC and CVG and the fleet starts to decrease in size, I think upgrade times on that fleet will trend higher than NYC even on the 73N.
