DAL Class drops

Answer 2: Don't commute to reserve. Especially if you can't sit long call at home. The junior guys on the 7er that I know have to go sit in base for the max short call days per month, which also limits the "sit long call at home" QOL.
Answer 3: Max days off come from not being on reserve (unless you live in base on 765/330/777/744) and being senior. Or bidding with check airmen and getting trips dropped. Yeah, that goes pretty senior too.
Since I have a bad commute, seniority is king. And if I lived in base, I'd still likely value seniority over pay rate.

Be very careful commuting on reserve. After quite a few issues with reserves not in position for trips the company is starting to play hardball. They treat willfully not being in position for reserve quite differently then a failure to commute if issues come up. The second is a non event. The first is trouble.
