Thank goodness you are here to unmask the traitors. I almost fell for that.
Anyone who wonders how Malone runs negotiations should visit the MEC web page and look in the library. The Negotiator's Notepads go all the way back to 1998-ish. He checks off each section as they are closed out on the term sheet.
He wasn't always forthcoming with every little detail for C2K, but he did check them off, and I think Uvena is as straight a shooter as anyone could ask for.
Section 3 is traditionally the last open item. There is no reason to expect that to change this time, despite all the "raising the sense of urgency." I don't get the idea that Ed is in hurry to revisit his prior insomnia.
Rumors are inevitable, but blaming them on political opponents is a novel idea. Well played.

Why?
This is not an attack on you so please don't take it that way. I see guys here talk about backpacks off, I fly with guys wearing orange who are up in arms about the company, yet when push comes to shove they always seem to go the extra mile and make stuff happen above and beyond. Hell, I flew with a captain last week who helped clean the plane so we could make an on-time push. I seriously don't get it.
Until management feels pain they are unlikely to negotiate in good faith. Is flying per the FOM a status quo violation? If not, why are we shooting ourselves in the foot by making things easy on management?

IMO it will need to get a lot uglier in the negotiation arena before guys don't do their best.

Where did you find that? When I look at the library (library>committees>negotiating>negotiators' notepads), the Negotiators' Notepads only went back to 2006.

To quote Bill Clinton, I feel your pain. But random acts of FOM adherence and nothing more won't get mgmts attention. Once it is a concerted effort, say, after summer with no TA, it most likely will get their attention. If it's random, it's just a coincidence in their eyes.
