NYC base questions
I'm looking for info about NYC as a base.
Do most of the trips start out of JFK/LGA vs EWR?
If you start a trip out of one airport, do they pay for travel back to where you parked your car?
Where is the parking located at in JFK and LGA?
I appreciate any info. Thanks.

Depends on what fleet you're on. Most widebody departures are out of JFK. Over 30% of 717 trips depart out of EWR. Technically the NYC "hub" consists of JFK and LGA, we don't have a big presence in EWR. Trips have to get you back to the airport you began your trip from or they will limo you back. We have employee parking at all 3. LGA is soon to be "valet" (what could go wrong?)

On the -88 I don't think 4-5 day trips should be to hard, but then again I'm a local that likes doing 1-2 days. It seems that there are a good amount of trips in terms of length to satisfy most of us. I can't speak at all for commutability though.

Yes, highly fleet-dependent. NYC 320 is maybe 80% LGA, rest split between JFK and EWR.
And yes, the upcoming LGA employee parking situation will be a total goat-fxxx this summer, with the proposed valet park situation.

The parking situation has been a goat rope since 92-93'. CPO called if you had a EWR pass and didn't bid EWR for a month. Same with LGA. Too cheap to just fix it and pay the price to operate out of those airports. Not sure how UAL, AMR handle the situation.

The big question is, how commutable will your line be? Will you have to commute on days off or can you bid trips that work for you? That's the QOL difference maker IMO.

The TLV (target line value) for the year is in the 75-80 hour range. Divide that by 5:15 per day and it gives you an idea of what kind of days off a domestic junior line holder could expect.
