Default Positive space?

I have a large chunk of open days in May due to some Mil Leave days I put in for. To make up for the low credit I'll receive in May, I'm looking at a couple of Int'l trips out of base. If I put in a white slip to pick one of those trips up, do I get positive space to that trip from base (from which I can deviate)?

Thanks!

I am 99% sure that you will only get a PS deviation if the trip you WS starts with a scheduled DH. If it starts in base you are on your own.

Out of Base WS your on your own unless the trip starts with a DH. Sometimes in desperate situations CS will positive space for an out of base GS.

I think "sometimes" means when out of base PCS action is in play. Always ask!

Would the same "commuter" rules still be in play? Give yourself a couple of reasonable options with seats open, and if it falls through they'll PS you?

Also, say there is an open trip I want right now and put in for the WS and get awarded that (which would be the 20th?) and then after the schedule adjustments happen, more open time comes out to the system and I want a different trip. Would I still be able to drop the WS trip and then pick up the new trip I want?

Commuter rules would apply. Expect to show you had the original flights if you ask for PS. Once you WS a trip you own it. It's no different then any other trip on your line. You can drop it or trade it based on reserve coverage.
Keep in mind that if this discussion is about out of base WS's they are only awarded same day or day prior. If you get a trip at that point you have no options to trade or drop the trip.
