Default Delta new hire info share

Are there any recent Delta new hires that can share some accurate information they may have heard in their initial classes? For Example:

- Are they still calling from the Tier 1 applicants or have they gotten into Tier 2?
- Current hiring projection updates?
- Will there be a summer hiring slow down this year?

Or anything else you may have thought "Man I wish I would have heard that while I was waiting for an invite email"

Thanks

I'm not a recent hire, but I am a very recent interview invitee. I have no idea how they break out the tiers, but here's my gist to give you a reference:

Applied in Aug 2015
Just got the invite in Feb 2016
Invite scheduled for May (earliest they had available)
My app availability shows June 2016
3,300 TT
2,500 multi turbine
1,900 TPIC
Military transport IP/EP
Clean record, no skeletons
Volunteer history
3.4 Bachelors
3.8 Masters
Met Delta at NGPA job fair (Jan 16)

When you say you met Delta at the NGPA conference, what did that entail? I'm going to the WAI conference in March and have a time slot with Delta. I'm curious what to expect. Thanks!

I met Delta at WAI in 2014. 3 months later I got the invite. I dont know if it had anything to do with it, but I had being trying to get with Delta for years...
It was a 3 mins of looking at the resume I gave him and asking a few question about what was on my resume.
I was "disappointed" with the 1 on 1 and it was short. It seemed that he didn't care, but as I said, 3 months later I got the email invite.
Who knows....

At NGPA I waited in line for about 90 mins, and talked with a captain for about 12 minutes. Delta had eight or so recruiters there, so I'm sure there's a bit of 'luck of the draw' as far as the quality of the discussion... but it was a solid 12 minutes of reviewing my resume and discussing what delta is looking for... including "Air Lines" being broken out into two words, and why that level of attention to detail is important on the resume and application. I'm sure they have some method of scoring your resume after your face time with the recruiter. It certainly felt like a mini-interview. I'm not sure it was the job fair that got me the interview invite... but it did come about 6 weeks later. PM me if you want one guy's opinion on your resume before you go to WAI. I had a lot of help with mine, and I'd gladly pay it forward. Cheers!

I'll let you all know when they start hitting the tier 5's or so. Still working on my degree 25 years later. The rest of me is stellar though.

I heard DL won't give you credit for going to job fairs and that it won't really do anything to help your chances, unless that has changed very recently.

Going to a job fair gets your app manually pulled and scored. I'd say it does more at delta than United or American.

However, this kind of error gets points taken off!
