Well, I know what to say. We are probably not too different in circumstances and disappointment with ALPA. I could go on and on about the reasons I am disenchanted by this bloated and off-track organization that has our forefathers rolling over in their graves. I'll just throw in screwing us on the retirement age, the RJ lovefest and representing entities that have no common interest or have actual conflicts of interest, so you get the idea we are probably on the same page regarding ALPA as a whole. My first ALPA experience as a lame 16 year contract at a mainline feeder. From striking while on probation in 1997 to repetitive "no" votes, I'm no ALPA fan.

Here's what's different now. We have historic unity in a pilot group with vast historic differences with how they participate in bargaining arena. After cleaning house, we have a Delta unit of ALPA that is truly poised to do right by us. IMO, it's the most important PWA juncture in our entire career. It's our one opportunity to set the correct path.

Even if you don't "feel the love" for DALPA right now, they are the only game in town. A show of unity will empower leadership and negotiators to do the best they can on your behalf. Don't drink the Koolaid or be a cheerleader for ALPA. But give them the tools to get the job done. If they fail, I'll be there holding the noose at high noon in the town square. Meanwhile, I'll be sending every signal available to show my support and conviction to a restorative PWA. Including wearing the lanyard. I hope you'll join the rest of us.

I hope I am challenged by my chain of command. I have just been informed I should do something in protest. It's about time.

Are the ALPA lanyards being mailed to our houses or placed in our mailboxes at work?

Mailed to your address of record. I haven't heard any reports that anyone has received one. You might call to check that they have the right address on file.

I said that, best if you read posts before quoting and correcting them.

I'm with FooFighter......ALPA is about 25 years too little too late.........A turn around is not possible within my time left. It's up to you new, young guys to fix it. I am happy to sacrifice any personal gain left in my time to help you young guys and restore the profession. No thanks to ALPA........I will, however, support the current effort IF I believe it is genuine and not some pacifist placating snow job.

You can blame Alpa, I do. For a bunch of reasons. But don't forget the management fellas are bunch of rascals. They have absolutely no respect for us, and they don't care if you're a Walmart greeter when you retire.

They are the party making this relationship adversarial. They want more concessions while buying back stock and paying down debt, all to make themselves wealthy beyond imagination. There is no reason the CEO makes $20 million a year and asks for concessions from the front line employees. RA did 8 years at Delta, most of us will do 30 plus and have no retirement and medical when we leave.
