The instructors are not to enforce the policy or make a big deal over it, but they are supposed to pass the message.
That message has missed a couple fleets...

My friend is on the 717, the DGS jumpseater was on the 88 so it's been sent out to at least those two.

How dumb. Imagine how receptive to learning the students were after that? Creating a positive learning environment is the first priority.

Ha, you've never been taught by the DGS guys on the 88.

I have gone through 88 school twice. Some of the instructors on the fleet are great, but the worst in the whole airline are also on the 88. There are a few that are legendary.

I was DH out of a Central American city this am and the Captain looked at me and asked about my unauthorized lanyard. I told him that we all needed to start wearing it to show unity and that we stand with JM.

I wore it during my last 3 717 sims last week. No mention by anyone. Wouldn't have removed it had I been asked. I was not in uniform. I was wearing business casual as per the FOM.

And I hate lanyards.

That's not our culture. DL and NWA have a history of unity, especially during contract negotiations. There will always be those who won't wear it until everyone else does or not at all but will happily share the reward of a unified group. Lead by example and let those who are afraid do whatever they feel they have to do. Hopefully they'll be fewer and fewer as days go by.
