Just did a 4 day with the orange swag. Saw not many others wearing it, including multiple swings through ATL and DTW. I"m the furthest thing from a rabble rouser. Union said wear it. Said if CPO asks me to take it off, comply. If there is some risk to wearing it, I'm not seeing it. Is it some fear that is keeping people from wearing it, or apathy?
For the record, I hate the damn thing, but I support my union.

Good for you for supporting your union. For the most part it's probably apathy. Also, a large number of pilots don't wear lanyards. If you 'hate the damn thing," but want to support your union, let your reps know how you feel about the lanyard and wear your ALPA pin. By wearing your pin you are expressing pride and support for your union.
Option B- don't like to wear lanyards, then hang it from your roll-aboard handle. Good to see orange in the halls!!

I think more and more Pilots will start wearing the lanyard as the word gets out that CPOs are basically not mentioning it and it appears to be a non-issue.
Has anyone been told to remove one, or even had a CPO acknowledge the lanyard?

Safety first
An orange lanyard makes you more visible in the concourse, and may prevent your being run over by one of those beeping electric carts. That will help the company by reducing sick leave.
