Lanyard Policy

Come to think of it... I haven't been very supportive of our union the past couple years because I've disagreed with the TA's they've sent to us for a vote. But I'm behind the current union leadership, and I'm hoping they can earn our trust by getting us the contract we deserve and we've earned.
Say what?

I'll be wearing the orange lanyard with pride. And I have to say, after more than my share of DALPA bashing, I'm encouraged by what I see from the new guys in the MEC/NC.
I also support any pilot's choice to not wear the orange. Just as I chose to not wear ANYTHING ALPA up to this point, no one should be shamed into wearing the new bling.
Lastly, I'm glad the guys in management have enough time on their hands to tackle big problems such as lanyard color standards. These kind of really big decisions certainly warrant multimillion dollar compensation packages. As long as there is no vulgarity on them , the paying public doesn't care a flying **** what lanyards we wear....after all, that is what this is all about, right? What a joke.

And if ever ask for a wind check, it is because I wasn't paying attention the first time (which is pretty much every time!)

...and, be very careful of using the "auto-acknowledge" feature recently added!
Personally, I don't see how that could be of any use (from either the company's or our POV) for any sort of "blanket" slip request. For a trip-specific request (i.e., you know the report time, etc.), sure; but not for a "any trip that pops up" request....

When I retired from the military, there was an emphasis placed on "should" "may" and "might" as mandatory conditions, a lot of sportb****ing about new (and unnecessary) changes to the flight uniform, and a service-wide witchhunt for anything sexually-inappropriate. I only need a witchhunt and I'll feel like I'm right back in the poorly-managed organization I happily left.
Thank you OC and Steve for making me proud to take off any and all Delta flair and wear my ALPA pin!
