Better to get the company to fill your 401 to the 415c ceiling every year and industry leading pay rates.

A delta new hire getting $54K+ a year over a 25-30 year work life is going to be far better off. No vesting discount. No early retirement discount.

As for the dead zoners..... screwed three ways from Sunday by alpa. The pbgc is systemically insolvent. Yet Alpa says n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

Thousands of alpa airline pilots industry wide are going to pay the price when the pbgc calls the game. Yet alpa is doing n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

That's what $50M a year in dues money buys. N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

At a minimum the PWA should underwrite the pbgc benefit level 'in the event' the pbgc reduces or becomes unable to pay the calculated benefit.

Reposition pay. NWA had it. Now the Co expects you to move airplanes around the ramp before or after your rotation begins/ends for no pay. Why hire mechanics to tow/repo AC when they can sucker Pilots into doing it for free.

Why? Because it would upset the apple cart. The incestuous relationship between ALPA and managements. Alpa now collects big money and plays the game. And the status quo continues.

Strategic planning committees?..... only when alpa SELF interest is at stake.

Otherwise..... you dues paying schlubs are on your own.

I'm pretty sure we get paid to reposititon aircraft. I found this in the contract. Section 3.A.2

"Block time” means the time beginning when an aircraft first moves for the purpose of flight or repositioning and ending when the aircraft comes to a stop at the next destination or at the point of departure

How much are we paying the clowns at Wilson Polling to trick us into supporting concessions?

Moak's pollsters aren't getting it done. We MUST fire these guys and find someone on board with our goals.

Yes we get paid to reposition aircraft. Also I have repositioned an aircraft maybe twice in 19 years.

But why let things like facts and actual contractual language get in the way of a feel-good whiny post?

Herk,

Let's try to make this a feel-good thread. If someone made a mistake, or is unaware of a particular section of the contract, let's not chastise him/her for it.

We are all on the same side and this thread is designed for us all to get to a better place, together. Know what I mean?

Cool.

So, after seeing what went down last summer, I believe the company needs big help with staffing.

Can anyone see anything wrong with allowing pilots to fly while on vacation (after all white slips go out), in exchange for something good.

It's voluntary. A lot of pilots would take advantage of it. And I believe we could get some good things in exchange for allowing this. Plus, I think we could protect against them taking advantage of it.

Win. Win. Win. (I think )

Thoughts?
