Well they are parking more 747's to deal with reduced demand, and oil prices keep falling, December quarter could be huge too. But we have to look out for that Sick Leave Abuse!

Here's a metric nobody on he fourth floor thought of; Delta's earnings have been going up, up, up the past 4 years, and management claimed our sick leave has also been going up, up, up the past 4 years.

Could it be that our sick leave has caused these increased earnings?

Shouldn't management be begging us to use MORE sick leave, so earnings would go up even more??

Not good for the Company, fine news for S3b's.

I know Phil and know him as a great guy, straight shooter and a darn good brewer as well. I usually take what he says to heart.

I think we do have a problem with some guys abusing sick and completely denying that does not do our "cause" any favors.

I don't for a second believe it is as bad as the company claims, and I would be curious to know how much it is really costing the company.

I also don't know how DALPA let the statement "It was clear that this was a top priority for the company and they would not accept no changes" (or something like that) go unchallenged.

I also don't know why the company continues with our system that is so unique. It has a lot of pros and cons, but it is so different from the rest of the industry that it makes comparisons difficult (though the company tries).

I voted no due to the open ended changes for the worse. Even if God himself came down and said mgmt had benign intentions, who is to say that the next generation of mgmt won't take that language and wreak havoc with it?

Well imagine you're our management team leading up to this contract, you have to ask yourself, what can we ask for? Seriously, making billions in profits, buying back billions in stock, paying off debt a fast clip, meeting pension obligations early. And one of your biggest expenses, fuel is falling faster than Cait Jenner's berries.

Sick leave, it's an easy section to attack. Claim the abuse and say there is a "need" to fix it. All the while productivity is the target. Scare us, intimidate, and hope a few percent will not jump threw the hoop to verify. What else can they ask for when times are so good? Self financed pay raises? Oh yea, they asked for that too.

Exactly. That's why I thought the whole Sick Leave Abuse issue was simply thrown in to distract our NC from demanding to be repaid for the BILLIONS WE ALREADY GAVE THEM!!

Oh no, SICK LEAVE ABUSE!! Run Around in Circles Everyone! Hurry! Another problem for us to solve for the company! Hurry! Run around in circles!!

Meanwhile, nobody on the Negotiating Committee noticed the company made over $1.5 Billion in one quarter, and announced they were going to return $6 Billion to the shareholders!

Idiots.
