Somebody posted this on one of the other sites. I think it's appropriate.

I want to revisit something I said above. We need to put leadership into place that believes in transparency and bottom up representation. Cut the NDA BS and just represent. No cozy relationship with management anymore.

Take Note: Even though some of the old guard voted against this TA, they may not be willing to open the books and break completely free as it were. If any remaining reps cling to the idea that we need to keep the survey results secret at this point, given the lopsided TA we are looking at, they probably are not the right guys to move forward with.

You will notice SOME of the union "no guys" continue to maintain relationships with the arrogant "YES guys" running our union hard selling this TA. We need to be very careful to make sure any new organization breaks completely free of the old way of doing things. That may include purging (D)ALPA all together at some point.

Talking with my wife. I might put my name in the hat if I believe I can do a better job than others in my base ready to step up. That said, If I don't run for a position I will support those who are willing to advocate for the pilot group with honesty and transparency.

The union NO voters have to maintain a relationship with the yes voters. You have to. Imagine if yes and no voting pilots refused to fly together in the same cockpit? It would be the same effect. Life goes on and we still have to maintain relationships. During furloughs at my last airline my position at the union would not allow me to publicly endorse no day off flying, but common sense suggested that we didnt fly on our days off. However, i would still fly with several FOs that were coming out on their days off. I would explain to them my disagreement and how it was hampering our efforts at the MEC and NC level (we were also in negotiations). But at the end of the day if we disagreed that was it. We were still a crew with a job to do. Similarly, your MEC reps still have a job to do. They cant just impose a government shutdown haha.

I for one think we should keep all of our NO voters. They were under intense pressure to vote yes and thsy backed their pilots 100 percent and proved their integrity. Folks were only 2 votes away from a majority that is willing to protect our pilot group and not sell out. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Just change out the bearings im willing to run for a position in council 16. MtEverest what council are you in
